Mercadona, a company of physical supermarkets and online sales, is replacing its workers' single-use hygienic face masks with new reusable corporate hygienic face masks that are more practical, modern and sustainable, and show the company logo on one side.

This change, which will entail an annual investment of over 5 million euros, is a major improvement to the provision of protective equipment at workstations, as the new face masks are more resistant to heat and humidity, more comfortable and ergonomic, and provide protection for an entire work day. These products can be reused up to 10 times, meaning that they also strengthen the company’s commitment to the environment.

This improvement was launched in late 2020, and it is expected that the company's more than 95,000 employees will have the new corporate face masks before the end of May.

Cambrass, the Totaler Supplier specialised in textiles for babies, is responsible for making this product, which is certified by AITEX under the Spanish UNE 0065-2020 and European CWA 17553:2020 standards. They boast a high filtration efficiency of 99% and great breathability and will be made at the company’s facilities in Ontinyent (Valencia) for workers in Spain and Portugal.
